About the Role

The ICT Administrator provides a high-quality single point of contact, as part of the Service Desk, to Consunet and its clients. This role assists others and uses their skills and knowledge to address routine requests and captures, triages, and provides issue resolutions. Through proactive learning and hands-on experience, the ICT Administrator will contribute to the continuous improvement of the systems of the enterprise, helping to deliver reliable, secure solutions that support critical projects and align with the enterprise objectives and compliance requirements.

Duties include;

  • Staff lifecycle administration
  • Perform Install, upgrade, support and troubleshoot of Windows and Linux systems, including authorized desktop applications
  • Support Windows, Microsoft Active Directory, utilization of GPOs, MS Office 365, PC hardware installation and troubleshooting, including Enterprise Security solutions.
  • Perform Install, upgrade, support and troubleshoot for printer related issues & other computer peripheral hardware.
  • Support Meeting/Conference Room Audio Video Equipment and performing regular preventive health checks
  • Maintain ICT processes, documentation, IT knowledgebase and relevant registers to ensure accuracy and relevance.
  • Supporting Consunet growth initiatives with new system implementations and processes.

Essential Knowledge and Skills

  • A commitment to a high level of customer service and to working collaboratively in a team-based work environment, including verbal and interpersonal skills and the ability to successfully communicate with a diverse range of people at all levels.
  • Time management skills
  • Robust knowledge of systems technologies
  • Knowledge of networking principles, including IP addressing, subnetting, routing, and switching. Ability to perform routine tasks and assist in diagnosing and troubleshooting network issues under supervision.
  • Solid technical skills, including experience with ticket management systems, PC desktop support (Windows 11), Office 365 system administration, and systems such as Active Directory, Exchange, Azure, and Group Policy Management
  • Demonstrated experience configuring, maintaining and troubleshooting issues with various PC Desktop/Laptop, Audio Visual, Printer and other peripheral hardware.
  • Familiarity with monitoring, managing, and supporting IT infrastructure, including basic server and network device management tasks.
  • Ability to identify and escalate significant issues, as well as to follow established troubleshooting processes and documentation standards.
  • Ability to monitor and support routine system operations, including event log analysis, patching, and configuration management, under guidance.
  • Understanding of firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, and access controls, aligned with defence sector standards.
  • Ability to approach tasks and problems logically and methodically.
  • Attention to detail for adherence to protocols and maintaining cybersecurity posture.

Desirable Knowledge and Skills

  • Linux Systems Management
  • Knowledge of DevOps / DevSecOps principles and practices.
  • Operating system and application patch management.
  • Cyber security toolsets (detect, record, monitor, analyse).
  • Strong understanding current security landscape and threats.
  • Advanced Diploma and/or Bachelor’s degree in the Computer Science, System Administration, or ICT.

Applicants are required to be Australian Citizens and be eligible to hold and maintain an Australian Defence Security Clearance.
